IR magazine and the Russian Association of Investor Relations Professionals (OSSI) were delighted to present the IR Magazine/OSSI Russia Conference 2007. The one-day conference brought together Russia’s investor relations community to debate and discuss critical issues facing this vibrant discipline. Attendees experienced first-hand the incredible growth of investor relations across Russia.
Investor relations is booming in Russia. Russian companies are looking to raise over $4 bn on the London Stock Exchange alone this year. 2005 saw Russian companies raising almost $5 bn through eleven IPOs, and more than 100 companies have declared their intention to list in the near future. Increasingly sophisticated investors are beginning to recognize the advantages of good investor relations and are demanding global standards of communication and interaction. Paralleled with a thirst for international investment, these developments are putting unprecedented demands on the efforts of the corporate community.
The conference content was aimed at experienced IR professionals as well as companies planning to list in the future. A mixture of keynote presentations, case studies by leading companies and interactive panel discussions provided the ultimate forum for reflection, learning and discussion. Topics addressed ranged from the basics of setting up an IR department to more complicated issues such as IR during a crisis.
