IR magazine commissions Mary Maude Research to conduct an independent survey for the Ireland Awards. The research team holds in-depth telephone interviews lasting 15 to 20 minutes with portfolio managers and analysts in the Irish market who work across European industry sectors. To provide context for the research, as well as valuable insight into the thinking of the investment community, the researchers first ask respondents about topical issues, such as how IR departments are responding to the downturn. They then move on to discuss the individual companies they follow: respondents name the three or four that give them the best IR service across a range of IR activity areas. Companies are then awarded points depending on the number of mentions and rank of the mention. The total number of points determines the winner for each category.
